Trust Without Borders

Music to most people is like a saving grace.  It’s as if music speaks to us, understands us, and embraces us.  I suppose the reason this song touches me is because when I’m feeling alone, in despair, or troubled, it has a way of reminding me that like waves from the ocean, those feelings will rise and fall and come and go.  My faith will keep my head above the water as long as I’m not sinking too far into the sand.  The song reminds me that my love, and the love of Jesus, is as deep as the ocean.  If I find myself drowning in the shallow waters of hatred, indignity, or fear, I know my faith will keep my eyes on the shoreline where my feet will stand (again).

This is still one of my favorite songs.  There are a variety of versions including acoustic and studio versions.  I decided to show a live version with some video effects. If this song doesn’t give you chills, than you may need God in your heart.

I included lyrics below.  Enjoy!

“Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)”

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

[6x]
Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Oh, Jesus, you’re my God!

I will call upon Your name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine
